First Use of your New Machine

After unboxing, your machine needs fluid checks, greasing, and a controlled first start before regular use. This guide covers everything to get your new excavator ready for its first job.

Safety Notes

  • • Do not operate on uneven ground until familiar with controls
  • • Keep bystanders clear during first operation

General Steps:

Check all fluid levels — engine oil, hydraulic fluid, and coolant (if applicable).

Some machines ship with minimal fluid levels.

Grease all fittings before first operation. See the Greasing All Points guide for detailed instructions.

Machines may ship without grease applied to all points.

Start the engine briefly and check for leaks, unusual noises, or warning lights.

Test all controls — boom, arm, bucket, swing, and travel — at low RPM to confirm proper operation.

Strongly recommended: Perform a full Engine Oil Change before putting the machine to work.

Factory fill oil may be low quality or have accumulated debris during assembly and shipping.

Strongly recommended: Perform a full Hydraulic Fluid Change before heavy use.

Shipping and storage can introduce contaminants into the hydraulic system.
