Hydraulic System Fluid Replacement

Hydraulic fluid should be changed every 1000-2000 hours or annually. Contaminated fluid can damage pumps, valves, and cylinders.

Safety Notes

  • Hydraulic fluid can be hot - allow cooling time
  • Clean all fittings before opening to prevent contamination

General Steps:

Lower all attachments to the ground and shut off the engine.

Allow the hydraulic system to cool if recently operated.

Place drain containers under the hydraulic tank drain.

4

Remove the hydraulic tank drain plug and drain completely.

5

Replace the hydraulic filter element.

6

Reinstall drain plug with new gasket.

7

Fill with correct hydraulic fluid to proper level.

Use only manufacturer-specified hydraulic fluid.

Start engine and cycle all functions slowly to purge air.

9

Check for leaks and recheck fluid level after cycling.
