Hydraulic System Fluid Replacement

Hydraulic fluid should be changed every 1000-2000 hours or annually. Contaminated fluid can damage pumps, valves, and cylinders.

Tools Required:

Large drain containersSocket wrench setFilter wrenchFunnel with screenShop rags

Safety Notes

  • • Hydraulic fluid can be hot - allow cooling time
  • • Clean all fittings before opening to prevent contamination

General Steps:

Lower all attachments to the ground and shut off the engine.

Allow the hydraulic system to cool if recently operated.

Place drain containers under the hydraulic tank drain.

Remove the hydraulic tank drain plug and drain completely.

Replace the hydraulic filter element.

Reinstall drain plug with new gasket.

7

Fill with correct hydraulic fluid to proper level.

Use only manufacturer-specified hydraulic fluid.

Start engine and cycle all functions slowly to purge air.

9

Check for leaks and recheck fluid level after cycling.
