Swing Motor Leak Repair

The swing motor rotates the upper turret. Leaks often occur at shaft seals or housing gaskets. Internal wear requires motor rebuild or replacement.

  • Swing brake must be engaged
  • Support turret before removing motor

General Steps:

Identify source of leak - shaft seal, case drain, or housing.

Remove swing motor cover and disconnect hydraulic lines.

Mark lines and fittings for reassembly.

Remove motor mounting bolts.

Remove motor and inspect drive coupling.

Replace seals or rebuild motor as needed.

Reinstall motor with new gaskets.

Reconnect lines and bleed air from system.
