Propane Conversion Installation
Propane conversion offers cleaner combustion, longer engine life, and fuel cost savings. Conversion requires specialized equipment and careful installation.
Tools Required:
Safety Notes
- • Propane is flammable and heavier than air
- • Test all connections for leaks
- • Ensure proper tank ventilation
General Steps:
Select propane conversion kit compatible with engine type and size.
Mount propane tank securely with proper ventilation.
Install regulator/vaporizer assembly near engine.
Run fuel line from tank to regulator with proper fittings.
Install mixer or fuel injection adapter on intake.
Connect coolant lines to vaporizer for fuel heating.
Wire fuel lockoff solenoid to ignition circuit.
Install fuel selector switch if dual-fuel capable.
Adjust mixer for proper air-fuel ratio.
Test for leaks using soapy water on all connections.
