General guide below applies to all models.
Pressure Testing and Diagnosis
Weak hydraulics can be caused by pump wear, relief valve issues, or internal cylinder leaks. Systematic pressure testing identifies the root cause.
Tools Required:
Safety Notes
- • Never disconnect hydraulic lines under pressure
- • Wear safety glasses when testing pressure
General Steps:
Connect hydraulic pressure gauge to test port.
Start engine and warm up hydraulic system to operating temperature.
Test main pump pressure against specifications.
Check pilot pressure if equipped.
Test individual circuit pressures (boom, arm, bucket, swing).
Identify circuits with low pressure readings.
Inspect relief valves for proper operation.
Check for internal cylinder bypass or pump wear.
