Replace Hydraulic Drive Motor
Remove and replace a failed hydraulic drive motor on the track assembly.
Hydraulic Drive Motor Replacement
A failed hydraulic drive motor will cause loss of travel on one side. Replacement requires draining hydraulic fluid and careful handling of heavy components.
Tools Required:
Safety Notes
- • Relieve all hydraulic pressure before disconnecting lines
- • Hydraulic fluid is hot after operation - allow cooling
- • Drive motor is heavy - use proper lifting technique
General Steps:
Park machine on firm, level ground and lower all attachments.
Relieve hydraulic system pressure by cycling controls with engine off.
Remove rubber track from the affected side.
Place drain pan under drive motor and disconnect hydraulic lines.
Remove mounting bolts securing drive motor to track frame.
Carefully remove drive motor - use lifting equipment if necessary.
Transfer drive sprocket to new motor if not included.
Install new drive motor and torque mounting bolts to specification.
Reconnect hydraulic lines using new O-rings.
Refill hydraulic system and bleed air from lines.
Reinstall rubber track and tension properly.
Test travel operation in both directions and check for leaks.
