Cooling Fan Belt Replacement
The fan belt drives the cooling fan and often the alternator. A broken belt causes rapid overheating.
Tools Required:
Wrench setNew beltTension gauge (optional)
Safety Notes
- • Keep hands clear of fan when running
- • Engine must be off during belt work
General Steps:

Shut off engine and allow to cool.

Locate belt tensioner or adjustment bolt.
3
Loosen tensioner to release belt tension.
4
Remove old belt from pulleys.
5
Route new belt around pulleys.
Note routing before removal or photograph.

Tension belt to proper deflection.
7
Tighten tensioner mounting.
8
Start engine and verify operation.
