An auger drive attachment turns your excavator into a powerful drilling machine. Proper setup and operation ensures efficient hole drilling and prevents equipment damage.

Safety Notes

  • Keep personnel clear of rotating auger
  • Never reverse auger while in ground
  • Stop immediately if auger stalls

General Steps:

Verify auxiliary hydraulics are functional and flow rate is appropriate for auger.

Connect auger drive to quick coupler or bucket pins.

Connect hydraulic lines to auxiliary circuit - note flow direction.

Install appropriate auger bit for soil conditions and hole size.

Test rotation at low throttle before drilling.

Position auger vertically over hole location.

Apply steady downward pressure while rotating - let auger do the work.

Periodically raise auger to clear cuttings from flighting.

For deep holes, drill in stages to prevent binding.
