General Steps:
Calculate total electrical load of existing and planned accessories.
Select alternator with 20-30% higher output than total load.
Verify new alternator has compatible mounting and pulley.
Disconnect battery and remove old alternator.
Compare mounting points and adjust brackets if needed.
Install new alternator and proper belt size.
Upgrade output wire gauge if significantly increasing amperage.
Reconnect battery and verify charging voltage.
Load test by running all accessories simultaneously.
