Track size is expressed in the format Width x Pitch x Links (e.g., 300x52.5x90). This notation describes the physical dimensions and configuration of the rubber or steel tracks.

Width (mm)

The first number indicates the track width in millimeters. Wider tracks provide lower ground pressure and better flotation on soft ground. Common widths range from 180mm (7") on 1-ton machines to 400mm (16") on larger excavators.

Pitch (mm)

The second number is the pitch - the distance in millimeters between the center of one track link to the center of the next. Standard pitches include 72mm for light-duty tracks and 96mm for heavier machines. This measurement is critical when ordering replacement tracks.

Links (#)

The third number is the total count of links in the track loop. More links mean a longer track, which corresponds to a longer undercarriage. Common link counts range from 33 to 90 depending on machine size. This number is essential for ordering the correct replacement track.
