Tail Swing Types
How much the rear of the excavator extends beyond the track width when rotating.
Zero tail swing
The counterweight and rear of the house stay within the track width during rotation. Ideal for working in confined spaces, near walls, or in traffic. May sacrifice some lifting capacity.
Reduced tail swing
Minimal overhang beyond the tracks - a compromise between zero tail and conventional. Provides better stability than zero tail while still being suitable for tighter spaces.
Conventional
Standard tail swing where the counterweight extends beyond the track width. Provides maximum stability and lifting capacity but requires more clearance when rotating.
