Boom Types
The design and movement capability of the excavator's main boom structure.
Fixed
Boom is rigidly mounted and does not swing left or right. Simpler design with lower maintenance. The entire machine must rotate to position the bucket.
Swing
Boom can swing left and right independently of the undercarriage (typically 50-80° each direction). Allows digging along walls, trenches, and in tight spaces without repositioning the tracks.
Variable angle
Boom angle can be adjusted for different working conditions. May include swing capability plus adjustable offset positioning.
